ALWAYS FUN in the High Desert: Calico Ghost Town, a real 1880s silver-mining town right off the I-15 near Barstow. Founded 1881, abandoned when silver lost its value in the 1890s, bought and restored by Walter Knott in the 1950s (five original buildings still stand). California Historical Landmark No. 782 and a San Bernardino County regional park.

Inside: old Main Street shops, Lil's Saloon, the Calico House restaurant, the Maggie Mine, the Calico & Odessa Railroad, the Mystery Shack, gold panning and the free Lucy Lane Museum. Plus camping, cabins, hiking, mountain biking and OHV trails. Leashed dogs welcome. Safety: stay out of the old mines in the area. Some historic areas aren't wheelchair accessible.

📍 36600 Ghost Town Rd., Yermo, CA
