Barstow Station is the famous I-15 pit stop built from retired railroad cars, including McDonald's dining cars. As reported on the Barstow Station history page: owner Fred Rosenberg's McDonald's was overwhelmed by tour buses, so he built the station, which opened in 1975. Food, snacks, souvenir shops and train-car photo ops.
